I'll stamp all over 'serious combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be shown live on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the pair came face-to-face to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex twice unified boxing king Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I'm going to break his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

Despite those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his dramatics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather targeted former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, frequently receiving huge paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would prevent the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Size Disparity

As both boxers met for the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity evident, it highlighted just how unlikely this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really proceeding.
